Post-Job Offer Psychological Assessment

-Assesses for psychological pathology such as sociopathic, depression and other mental disorders, aggressiveness, rigidness in approach to problem-solving, emotional maturity, stress hardiness, drug and alcohol use, antisocial behaviors, ability to relate to the opposite sex, compulsive behaviors, work attitudes, suspiciousness, multiphasic behavior, writing sample, mental alertness, positive health habits, self-esteem, ability to command respect, personal insight, impulse control, speed of decision making, organized thinking, assertion, ability to take orders, ability to relate to others, comfort level with diversity, anger management, motivation, self-reported strengths and weaknesses, driving behavior, environmental awareness, and life experience.

-Procedures include a Public Safety Interview form, two psychological tests, three proprietary inventories, a test of mental alertness, review of background information, and a comprehensive interview that is designed to elicit admissions on arrests, driving problems, drug and alcohol use, domestic violence, and work history that are sometimes not picked up on a background investigation.

-The data from the tests, inventories, background and interview is reported in a comprehensive document consisting of 7 to 10 pages in length. The assessment report summary page states a clear "Qualified" or Unqualified" rating. An "Unqualified Pending Additional Information" score is available for certain cases. In the event of such a rating, CBA will work in conjunction with the department and/or background investigator to clear up any such issues.

-The report contains a detachable Field Training Officer page listing target area strengths and limitations to aid Field Training.

-Verbal feedback on the candidate's score will be given within 24-48 hours of the assessment to the referring agency. A comprehensive written report will follow in 7-10 working days.

-With written permission from the department, the candidate may receive telephonic feedback at no additional charge.

-An 800 number is available for all departments to utilize 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for questions, concerns etc..

-Ongoing Research and Quality Assurance is conducted by CBA to determine the accuracy of assessment recommendations.
